Professor Edith Hall is a Hellenist who has worked and published on a wide variety of topics in classical literature and its continuing impact in the modern world, most recently on Aristotelian ethics. In her paper, she will explore why we need Aristotle and his ethics in the 21st century, and how well-known movies can help us in this. She just has been awarded a grant from the British Arts and Humanities Research Council as Leadership Fellow in a project on “Teaching Classical Civilization: Recording the Past and Fostering the Future."
