Lecture by Rob Heffron, "Women and the Urban Spaces of Rome and Constantinople: Representations in Late Antique Discourse"

Parthenon with OSU Classics Banner
April 6, 2018
All Day
TBA

(Sheffield University)

Graduate student Rob Heffron will be discussing the ways in which women, the urban spaces of Rome and Constantinople, and the relationship between them, were represented in late antique discourse. He will be looking to challenge the traditionally negative readings of the source material, by demonstrating that this relationship, as represented by late antique authors, was more complex than has been supposed.
