Add to Calendar 2013-03-02 14:00:00 2013-03-02 17:00:00 Memorial Service: Emeritus Professor Charles Luther Babcock Professor Charles Babcock came to Ohio State in 1966; serving as chair of the Department of Classics and first dean of the College of Humanities. He received numerous awards from Ohio State, including the Distinguished Teaching Award, and the Distinguished Service Award. A WWII veteran, Babcock received the Bronze Star for valor. Babcock widely shared his great love of ancient Rome and the Latin language – through teaching and programs he directed in Rome over the years. A date for a spring memorial service will be announced later. The family requests those wishing to honor his memory contribute to the Charles L. Babcock Rome Scholarship, #600239, which provides funds for students to study in Italy. *Complimentary Valet ParkingDirections:315 from the North:Turn East on Lane Ave. Turn right  on Tuttle Park Pl. Tuttle Park turns into 17th by the RPAC when the road turns left. Make a right on Neil Ave. and that will take guests to the front entrance of the Thompson Library.315 from the South: Take the OSU Med Center exit and turn left on Cannon Drive. Because of construction  turn right on 12th Ave. Then turn left on Neil Ave.  That  will take guests straight to the Library. 315 from the North:
