The Marjorie Curry Woods Research Collection In Medieval Rhetoric

Marjorie Curry Woods

Marjorie Curry Woods, professor emerita at the University of Texas at Austin, has generously donated her incomparable collection of microfilms and notes on medieval and renaissance manuscripts transmitting commentaries on the Poetria Nova of Geoffrey of Vinsauf.  Woods is a noted scholar of the classical tradition and is the author of such works as Classroom Commentaries: Teaching the Poetria Nova across Medieval and Renaissance Europe and Weeping for Dido. The Classics in the Medieval Classroom. We are delighted to have her important collection on permanent deposit at the Center.  Scholars of medieval rhetoric and the classical tradition are encouraged to apply for a Virginia Brown Fellowship in order to make use of this important resource.
