Add to Calendar 2023-04-12 13:45:00 2023-04-12 14:45:00 Graduate Workshop - Biweekly Writing Group This group will be dedicated to offering graduate students (primarily) a venue for presenting their works-in-progress (conference papers, dissertation proposals/chapters, etc.) in front of other graduate students and faculty for helpful comments and feedback. We will also be hosting regular professional development workshops, see below for a proposed list of topics. The goal is for us graduate students to use this venue to develop as scholars in our own right and to prepare for the academic job market or other opportunities. This venue may also grow as a space for faculty to present their own research projects, and for graduate students to learn about these projects. Topics for professionalization  Drafting Abstracts (e.g. for SCS) Practicing conference papers Dissertation proposals The Job Market – TT positions The Job Market – Lecturer/VAP/Postdocs The Job Market – International opportunities  Application materials (possibly one session each:)  Cover letter CV Selection of writing materials Sample syllabuses  Teaching statement Diversity statement Interviews and Campus Visits Publications – first articles Research and writing skills   UH 448 Department of Classics classics@osu.edu America/New_York public
