In this talk, Rebecca Benefiel brings together scattered epigraphical evidence and archaeological finds to identify previously unrecognized public expressions of support for one of the city’s most prominent families. Analysis of texts posted across the city reveals a program of notices embedded within a dense epigraphic landscape. Reading Public Prestige and Personal Loss in Pompeii
