Classics Club goes to the Center for Epigraphical and Palaeographical Studies

The Classics Club recently visited to the Center for Epigraphical and Palaeographical Studies, and everyone had a great time! Wendy Watkins had a great selection of squeezes out for us to look at, and Prof. Coulson showed some examples of manuscripts alongside the Loeb's text, so the students got a great overview of what both epigraphy and palaeography are, and what study and research in the disciplines entails. Too, there were some great stories about how manuscripts are discovered, and the students seemed very intrigued by the detective work involved. We also got an overview of the Virginia Brown collection and why it's so significant.
