Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

I received my B.A. in Ancient Civilization and Classical Languages with a minor in Psychology from the University of Iowa in 2023. My senior honors thesis, “‘The Very Special Dead’: Heroes and Saints as Intermediary Figures of Antiquity” examined the similarities between ancient Greek heroes and early Christian saints and their roles in offering special metaphysical religious experiences. My research interests lie primarily in the religions of the ancient Mediterranean; specifically, I am interested in how ancient people thought of and felt divine presence. I am also interested in gaming in the Classics, both pedagogically and how games can be used as research tools.
