The Roberta Elliott Endowment Fund Award

The Roberta Elliott Endowment Fund was established June 29, 2001, with a gift from Esther B. Elliott in honor of her daughter, Roberta Elliott Wantman (BA cum laude, with Distinction in Latin and Ancient History 1971; MA 1973). The fund is used to support the Department of Classics and the Ice Core Paleoclimate Research Group in alternating years. Revised May 7, 2004, February 2, 2007 and June 3, 2016.

Every other year (odd years), the fund supports graduate or undergraduate student travel in the Mediterranean world. Preference will be given to students conducting interdisciplinary research in Classics, Near Eastern Studies, and in other fields that study ancient Mediterranean cultures - for example, students in the CANE program.
