At their meeting of April 6 2012, the Trustees of The Ohio State University approved the name change of the former Department of Greek and Latin to the Department of Classics. Henceforth the name of the department is the Department of Classics.

Gabe Fuchs is the recipient this year of the SHARP-RBS Scholarship from the Rare Book School at the University of Virginia.
We are happy to announce that Marion Kruse's paper on imperial competition in the Red Sea area between the late Roman and Sasanian Persian empires won the third prize in the competition among graduate student papers at the Byzantine Studies Conference, presented last year in Philadelphia.
